anti-money.



I'm certainly not sold on the tenner's illustration. It's too straightforward. It's too cartoon-esque. It's too jokey & it's too poorly drawn. Oddly there's much more of the intended emotion in the drawing without faces, I'd hazard a guess that it's because we can fill the faces in our imagination thus making them a lot more emotional than the top one. If I can just figure out a 'hapiness & joy' pose similar to the 'love & kindness' one then I might be on to something.

    I like the anti-money idea, but don't think your graphics work. Oddly, they make me think of a chocolate wrapper.

    I love the rich, overlaid line work in conventional bank notes and think you should try adopting this style, while still trying to get your message over. I think you'd get a more powerful effect if a viewer had to really look / look twice at the note, to get the message.

    Use bank note convention, and subvert it.

  2. I agree with the above post, they are very flat, you need to build layers of interest into them, a celebration of the ordinary, yet richly evoked.
